Role Summary/Purpose
The Technical Leader - NDT & Inspection will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization. You will be involved in long-term planning and contribute to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas area of expertise.
Essential Responsibilities
-Provide technical leadership for a team of NPI engineers working on NDT inspection and test projects assigned to RTCOE typically involving gas turbine, steam turbine, generator and wind products
-Assure all inspection NPI products meet technical and design requirements
-Develop cross functional relationships with interfacing organizations such as Product
Line, PR&S, Sourcing, Field Services, Power Services, Global engineering and Global Research
-Support service program fulfillment for new NPI products through R0, R1 process
-Provide strong guidance and contribution to multi generation technology plans for inspection related technologies
-Communicate progress to all levels of the organization
-Mentor and develop less experienced personnel
Qualifications/Requirements
-Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
-At least 5 additional years of NDT experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
-GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
Desired Characteristics
-Master’s of Science in Engineering is preferred
-Additional experience in steam turbine, generator is preferred
-Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
-Sound mechanical design and analytical background
-Familiarity with manufacturing processes, mechanical & non-destructive testing related to power generating machines
-Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
-Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
